How to make up one of our value tulle favour kits:

• Pre-cut a length of ribbon to about 30 cms / 1 foot.

• Take two flowers, one of each colour, and create a T shape at the end of the wire – this will stop the flowers slipping out of the finished design.

• Lay one piece of coloured tulle and one piece of white / ivory tulle on a flat surface such as a table.  The two pieces need to sit exactly on top of each other, and the piece you place on the bottom will form the outside of the finished favour.

• Place a dish in the centre of the tulle.

• Add your confectionery.  We recommend five sugared almonds representing health, wealth, love, long life and fertility, or five dragees.  If you wish to put in chocolates, such as out fantastic foil covered lover hearts, we recommend three.  Place the confectionery in the dish.

• Holding down the dish with one hand to keep it in place, gather the tulle loosely around the dish with the other.

• Insert the flowers into the centre of the gathered tulle and then gather tightly around the dish, its contents and the flower stalks.

• Whilst holding the tulle in place with one hand take the pre-cut ribbon and wrap around the gathered tulle just above the confectionery, pulling tight and overlapping into a bow.  This is the difficult bit, so you might want to get help as two pairs of hands makes it easier!

• Once the ribbon is tight, you should be able to release your grip on the tulle.  If the dish remained in the middle, then you should have an even amount of tulle to fluff out into a delightful favour.  You can adjust your flowers and the T placed in the wire at the start should prevent them from slipping out.

• To finish, trim the ribbon to the desired length.

• These instructions are a guide only and do not guarantee success, that depends on your own artistic skills!  You will find the first few difficult, but once you have the hang of it, it should come easier. 

• If you do them with sisters, mothers, friends over a bottle of wine then it can lead to quite a fun evening!
